Jakarta Teak Tile

We have the absolutely most beautiful new tile at Design For Less!  The Jakarta Teak tile is made from reclaimed teak wood and is manufactured with environmentally safe and sustainable practices. The tile that is created is modern and rustic all at the same time.

You can use the tile for a feature wall, bathroom or kitchen backsplash.  The natural wood, puzzle arrangement and varying colors will leave you finding new charming details all the time.  I could cover a whole wall in the Jakarta, definitely my favorite tile yet!

We have it up on the website so you can see what it looks like and the product will be available Mid-June.  If you can’t wait till then and love the natural and “green” appeal of the teak, check out the Coconut Tile or the Kirei Boards.

First Place

Ocean Grey is one of our most popular colors which is why it shows up in the best installation pictures!  With the beautiful light coming through the windows we just couldn’t resist this open kitchen plan.  The Ocean Grey also comes in a 1×2 solid and a frosted version.

Second Place

We can barely keep the Farenheit glass tile in stock and now you can see why… They used the Ice Subway Tile for the shower shelf.

Third Place

Third place was a close call, but we just loved seeing the Plantation installed on this whole backsplash.  Not only does it look great but it is a steal at only $9.00 / sqft.

This kitchen is simple and stunning.   The Standing Java Pebbles add texture and detail.

This bathroom used our best selling and favorite combination, the Ocean Pebble and Sage Green glass.

We loved the bold use of color both in the cabinets and entry wall!

Second Place went to this Standing River Rock Bathroom.  You can see how they didn’t grout the tiles or just minimally grouted them, letting the 3 dimensional quality of the Standing Pebbles shine.

And third place to this creative Keywest Kitchen.  They did a great job of bringing the whole kitchen together by putting the Keywest on the island as well.

If you are done with your remodel and do not think you can use the gift certificate we would love to see your pictures anyways.  It is always a treat seeing the final look of the projects.  You can also pass the discount on to a family member or friend.

A great little fact about the Montage glass tiles is that each sheet is a bit over one square foot.  So while you are paying a square foot price you are actually getting more tile than you are paying for.  Also each tile is made with 100% recycled content so you can feel good about your tile choice.  You are getting a green tile without the high price.  How’s that for a deal?

One of my favorites is Summer which would look great with our Ocean Grey 3×6 Subway as a beautiful bathroom tile design.  And the Summer glass tile is only $8.00/piece…

Another great pick is the Sahara from the Montage Series.  A great combination of tan and beige tones it goes great with our Java pebble tile.  This would be great in a bathroom design as well or even better as a kitchen tile.

The options are endless!  Check out the Montage Series and see what else you could match it with!

Just like most of our tiles they have a mesh backing for easy installation.  Each 1×1 and 2×2 tile is glued to the mesh to create a 12×12 (square foot) sheet.  This way you can lay the tiles with ease and more precision.  Which means you can install them easily yourself or you can save time and money with your installer.

You can also use these tiles just about anywhere including the floor.  The mesh is also easily cut if you want to create a border or your own pattern.  So get creative!

The tiles are even more beautiful and textural in person.  If you see something you like you can order a sample of the 1×1’s or the 2×2’s.  And as always the cost of your samples is discounted from your total if you decided to purchase the product.  Just make sure you mention it when you call in or send an email for online orders.

The First Place winner is this beautiful Lotus Fusion and Bali Black bathroom.  These two tiles look so amazing together!  And with everything else in the bathroom.  It all comes together effortlessly.

The Lotus Fusion is showcased beautifully next to the white sinks and counter top.

Especially nice is the Bali Black on the bathroom floor.  It looks like they might have used a sealer with an enhancer to darken the stone which looks even more striking with the light grout color.  This pictures also shows how great lighting can really make a room.

Second place went to this amazing Ipe deck tile installation.  Ok, we have to admit that we may have been mesmerized by the view almost more than the tile.  But we couldn’t think of a better complement to that view than the Ipe Deck Tiles.  In the mist of so many buildings the natural look and feel of Ipe wood is the perfect complement.

Ipe tiles also have the same fire rating as concrete which make it the only deck tile you can use on patios and rooftops in New York buildings.

Third place goes to this luminous Stainless Steel Circle kitchen.  The Stainless Circles are a unique tile and this kitchen shows how fun they can be!

We loved her choice of grout color as well.  You get all the tile and minimal lines.  It looks amazing!
